5 Reasons couples should attend a Wedding Venue Showcase
Nothing quite compares to the wonderful feeling of getting engaged, the rush of emotion and happiness that follows is uplifting, pure elation that the one you love wants to spend their life with you. Then follows the excitement of sharing the news with friends and family. What next? Your first team task as an engaged couple… choosing a venue and planning a wedding!
Whether you are having a very intimate wedding with your nearest and dearest, or an opportunity to gather as many of your favourite people together as possible for a big party, choosing the right venue is really important to make sure that your day is exactly what you both want it to be.
So, for those without a specific venue in mind, usually an online search is the first port of call to find a few venues that might suit you. With sites such as Hitched.co.uk and CocoWeddings.co.uk being a good start to finding your perfect place. Most venues will then be more than happy to arrange a viewing. However, could you go one better than a viewing? Are they offering a wedding showcase?
Re-wind a bit we hear you say! What is a Wedding Showcase? Wedding Showcases are becoming more popular, they are organised by venues as an opportunity to dress their venues up to show exactly how special they could look on your day and open their doors to prospective couples who want full access.
Showcases are different
Good wedding venues are usually busy places and will be hosting (or preparing for) events much of the time, with very little downtime. We often hear couples say that during their viewings of some venues particular rooms or spaces weren’t available to look at or that there was an event in progress or even that the place was a forest of boxes as the venue was being prepared for an event. This can make it difficult to really visualise how the space will look and feel on your day. Enter Showcase days – entirely dedicated to prospective couples, the venue will be beautifully dressed with couples given full access to each and every space.
You get the full squad
Behind every successful venue is a great team of people, and these people are understandably all working hard behind the scenes during each and every event to make sure a couples special day goes seamlessly. At the showcase the team have the ability to focus all their attention on you and your other half. This means you will likely meet; the owners/manager, planners and many more who will be instrumental in making your day perfect. This means getting answers to all your questions and no more ‘I’ll have to speak to the manager and get back to you on that!’
Supplier
A venue will be an important part of your day but there can be many more aspects that need to be planned, think; caterers, bar providers, celebrants, florists, musicians, DJs, stationary designers, entertainers, cake makers and many more talented people. Many of these services are not things you often need to organise in your daily life. Venues however usually have amazing connections with these suppliers, and bear in mind that venues know that good suppliers will reflect well on their business and bad suppliers can cause all sorts of problems. So, whether a venue has approved suppliers, preferred suppliers or just a little black book of great companies, these contacts can be a really helpful thing for couples, peace of mind that these suppliers are tried and tested. Very often at showcases a venue will invite some of their favourite suppliers to come along and showcase their work too, this can be a great opportunity for couples to meet and maybe even tick two or more boxes in one day! At the very least trying some cake samples can just be an added treat on the day!
Visualise
Nothing compares to the feeling you have on your wedding day, and we so often hear couples say they made their decision on their venue purely based on that ‘feeling’ they immediately got when they walked into the venue for the first time. They could imagine themselves saying those special words together in the ceremony space or laughing at speeches in the reception dining area or even having that first dance on the romantically lit dance floor. When a venue is setup for a showcase each and every space is finessed as if a couple is about to arrive ready to be married, so it is the closest a venue can feel to the real thing.

Getting married is often for many couples a big expense, of course worth it for the experience of having the most important day of your life with the one you love. But it is only right that you get the most from each and every supplier for your day, and that includes your venue. Venues will pull out all the stops for a Showcase, investing a lot of time and effort in making it a valuable experience for couples, so we encourage you to take advantage of this and enjoy everything on offer on the day. Some venues will even offer special discounts for those couples that reserve their date at a showcase too!
